Project description:
Echeyde Sociedad Cooperativa aims to implement a system of signage and cognitive accessibility in each of its three schools on the island of Tenerife.
To do this, we have started with the placement in the facilities and dependencies of our centers of plates with pictograms adapted for people with functional diversity, who require an alternative means of communication. For the elaboration of these plates, the graphic resources that the Aragonese Portal of Augmentative and Alternative Communication ARASAAC offers us.
With this we intend:
- Attend to the needs of the students who demand these alternative means of communication (students with autism, hearing disabilities …)
- Raise awareness in the educational community (students, teachers and families) of the need for these communication systems to form a more aware and inclusive society.
At Echeyde Sociedad Cooperativa, we have been traveling this path for many years, based on principles of equity, cooperation and solidarity, where insertion is total and unconditional, without disguising limitations.
As you can see in the photographs that we show you below, the result has been wonderful.
Now we go to work it from the classrooms!
